SG-1 FIC: The Delicate Balance of Trust

Haven't written anything at all in a very long time. Thank goodness for the Stargate Alphabet Soups!

Title: The Delicate Balance of Trust
Rating: G
Warning: N/A
Summary: SG-1 thought they were being detained due to an off-world compromise situation. They were wrong.
Author's Notes: Written for the On World Alphabet Soup Anthology sponsored by [info]sg_fignewton, who also beta read this for me and provided some very excellent suggestions which prompted me to rewrite the ending. I am so glad she did!

SG-1 FIC: Games People Play

Title: Games People Play
Summary: A surefire cure for boredom is to play some games. Too bad no one else wants to cooperate. Missing scene from Urgo.
Author's Note: Written for the SGC Alphabet Soup, except I realized after I wrote it that the fic had to be about an SGC personnel and not just a visitor. So now this is just another gen fic that takes place right after the briefing room scene where Jack swears he wasn't singing... until he was offered the proof. :) The first line of dialogue comes directly from the end of that scene.

SG-1 FIC: Commissary Sonata

Title: Commissary Sonata
Rating: G
Warning: None
Summary: Food, music and an imaginary alien makes for an interesting evening.
Author's Notes: Written for the SGC Alphabet Soup Anthology. Also written as a backup fic because I screwed up and originally wrote about a "visitor" not an SGC personnel.

SG-1 FIC: Under Friendly Fire

Nominated for the Stargate Fan Awards for 2006 and 2007!!!

This fic is rated M due to the subject matter. The first chapter of this story includes implied non-consensual sex and is descriptive to a point. The actual act is not described, but the violence around the act is. The remaining chapters do not have any violence, other than the characters beating themselves up over what they did. Those chapters are rated T because of the subject matter they’re angsting over.

To make matters worse, the men of SG-1 are the attackers and Sam is the victim. Granted, the men are under an alien influence and would never have done something this heinous otherwise, but they are the culprits and the entire story revolves around their feelings of guilt and anger as they deal with what they did, as well as Sam’s feelings and thoughts as she deals with her own anger, and conflicting emotions.

Now if all that didn’t scare you away, I have been told that Sam’s reactions are a little off-based. I tried to fix it, but in doing so, I may have made things worse. I’ll leave it up to you to decide.

I want to thank Denise for her invaluable advice on this story, especially for her surgery skills in cutting out the parts that would have made this a teen rated fic. I ended up with the M rating instead, because I didn’t want to cut out the fight scenes, and because I couldn’t be that brutal to the words I had originally written. :-) She also provided her thoughts and ideas on how to improve this story, and I am always extremely grateful for that.

Thanks also go out to Lynette who read this and passed on her encouragement and comments, and to Diane who beta’d this fic even though this type of story is not her cup of tea. That’s a true friend for you!

SG-1 FIC: Reflections of the Past

This story was written for the word "Frustration" which was the Jackfic Word of the Month for August 2005. It was also inspired by a line in a fic I had read some time ago. I put the two together and voila!! This idea was born.

Title: Reflections of the Past
Rating: Teens (just to be safe)
Pairings: A little bit of Jack/Sam and Jack/Sara... and maybe a few others...
Category: Angst, drama
Word Count 18,424 words
Summary: Jack is trapped in a wilderness of mirrors
Author’s Note: This story was inspired by the word "Frustration" and a few lines written by others that "spoke" to me. :D Special thanks goes out to Diane for her opinions and for the beta. She is the best!!

SG-1 FIC: Gemini Crossings

This fic is a crossover with MacGyver. I wanted to write a story that reflected my take on the resemblance between Jack O'Neill and MacGyver (other than the fact that both characters were played by the same actor). There are a lot of Stargate SG-1/MacGyver stories out there, and I just had to write one of my own. It's also one of my favorites (along with Solidarity, Betrayed and a few others) and I'm still super excited that it came in 2nd place for Best Jack Crossover of the 2005 Jackfic Awards.

SUMMARY: Jack must deal with a personal problem involving another duplicate, while SG1 works to find a lost civilization. MacGyver crossover.

NOTE: Since I am more of a Stargate SG-1 fan, this story is mainly based on that show, and that is why MacGyver's "bio" information is not perfect. Okay, so I changed some of it to suit my purposes. :D

SG-1 FIC: Freedom to Choose

Title: The Freedom to Choose
Summary: They seem to be learning more and more about each other every day.
Author's Notes: Written for [info]sg_fignewton's birthday, through the wonderful efforts of [info]abyssinia4077, who put together a great little anthology of Team fics using the letters of the birthday girl's name. This fic is not beta'd yet, but will be soon.

SG-1 FIC: Leaders of the Pack

Title: Leaders of the Pack
Ratings: PG
Warnings: None
Summary: Jack and Bra'tac play a little game of cat and mouse
Author's Notes: You know, trying to fit a story into a 1,000 words can sometimes be so restrictive that nothing can save it. This is one of those times. I put in too much action and not enough reaction into this one, leaving it a little choppy. Still, it's not as embarrassing as the Mummy crossover story that no will ever see (I've already deleted it) so into my journal it goes!

SG-1 FIC: All American

Story Title: All American
Rating: (G)
Pairings: None
Summary: Jack is accused of being a traitor, much to the disbelief of everyone but Kinsey.
Author's Note: Written for the prompt, American as Apple Pie, for [info]stargate_las. Also, I was only allowed 1,000 words so the ending is left open to interpretation. Just keep in mind that Kinsey never wins. :D

SG-1 FIC: Anything to Win

Title: Anything to win
Rating: (PG)
Warnings: Daniel calls Jack an ass. :)
Summary: SG-1 avoids the enemy as they make their way to their final destination.
Author's Note: Written for the prompt, "That's the last of the coffee" for [info]one_prompt.
Additional note and apology: I tried something different this time around. I wanted to write this from a narrative POV - and unfortunately, I failed miserably at it. Actually, I can say that it starts out on the right track, I just sort of slipped and fell and… *sigh* I finally gave up the fight and am leaving it like it is. Sorry if all the "head-hopping" makes you dizzy.

SG-1 FIC: Gateway to the Stars

Title: Gateway to the Stars
Summary: SG-1 is stranded off-world, but not for long.
Author's Notes: Written for the Team Alphabet soup Anthology sponsored by [info]sg_fignewton - S is for Stargate

Gateway to the Stars

The gateway stands on the hill like a sentry, strong and tall, forever watching humanity and wildlife as they come and go. There are many names for this gateway - the stone circle, Chappa'ai, stairway to heaven, Stargate, and yet to the four people running toward it now, the gateway represents a haven, a way to safety. It represents home.

There is no shame in retreat, Jack O'Neill thought, as he ordered his troops back to the gate. No shame at all, especially since the enemy outnumbered them four to one. He swore softly when a staff blast barely missed him, but he kept running toward the gate, the humongous beacon of hope that meant only one thing at a time like this… safety.

Onward to the rest of the story. )

SG-1 FIC: Every Breath You Take

Title: Every Breath You Take
Summary: Sam's in trouble, but her team is there.
Author's Notes: Written for [info]one_prompt. This is a strange little ficlet/vignette, but I thought I would post it anyway. It's not beta'd yet either, even though I had plenty of opportunity.

SG-1 FIC: Shadows of Fear

Title: Shadows of Fear
Rating: T (for mild language)
Warnings: Mild language and tragic situations (NO major character death)
Pairing: None
Summary: The greatest fear is the fear of the unknown.
Author's Notes: I don't know why these kinds of stories come to me, although this particular one dawned as I was listening to Loreena McKinnett. That woman lives for tragedy. *g* Many thanks go out to Diane, as always, for her fantastic beta skills. And just to clarify, all mistakes are my own.
